The Recon Operation FLyer takes off!

Posted by Matt Bruns, Ian Lilly on February 4, 2012 at 11:20 AM Comments comments (4)

"Walking Tanks" are fairly popular at paintball events outside of New England, but I haven't seen many paintball Helicopters anywhere. so I decided to give one a whirl, as it were.

Afer several months of figuring out numerous ways how not to make one, I brought the first field-ready version to the Russian Front event at Strategy Plus yesterday. It was an absolute hoot, and got many favorable comments. I think it will be a great addition to future events. More details in the team forum.

I want to thank everyone at SP for letting me do the first test run of our new toy and I REALLY appreciate the Red team for letting me experiment on them. And thanks to Mr. Pink for being my Cew Chief! :D

Mime Money II

Good morning! I tried to post as a comment but my phone is being argumentative at the moment. Just wanted to clarify that we will go to a bottle deposit station, like at Stop and Shop, to deposit glass, plastic, and aluminum. So the materials do not necessarily have to have the recycle symbol on them, they just need to be able to be deposited in a CT bottle return.

Mime Money Making Tactics

Good morning!! As our team grows to new heights, there are quite a few items and far away places members are expressing interest in. So, I would like to propose an idea. If we save cans and bottles and then make a team bottle drive day, we can use that money as a fundraiser and place it in our account for team expenses, in addition to team dues. Between all of us, we could rake in quite a bit of money. Please post any thoughts, and start collecting!

The MM tapped to join Defenders at EMR Spring Castle

Posted by Matt Bruns, Ian Lilly on March 3, 2011 at 9:08 PM Comments comments (2)

EMR Paintball Park in New Milford, PA hosts many of the largest and most intense paintball events in the country. The Spring Castle event puts 150 hand-picked defenders inside the largest paintball Castle in the country, where they must defend it against all comers. If they are lucky, the Defenders will only face 4-to-1 odds. Twice that number is not impossible.
This year, the Mouthy Mimes are honored to have been invited to stand with the teams of JointFury and stalwart other Defenders. Fifteen Mimes with some sort of shared psychosis have now committed to go into paintball's version of a Cuisinart on the weekend of 4/30-5/1.

We are especially grateful to Hightower and our other friends in the Fighting 5-0 for calling on us to share the hellacious pain and suffering glory. We will never forgive you forget it.

Here are the other teams playing, according to the EMR event website:

"The Guaranteed Defender's Slots for this game were picked INVITE ONLY by Teams JOINT FURY and PUBCRAWLING. They have been joined by Teams ASSASSINS GUILD, ASSAULT & BATTERY, BITM, BONEHEADS, FIGHTING 5-0, FORTY OZ CASUALTIES, LOST BOYS, MOUTHY MIMES, PA BREW CREW, RIVERSIDE REGIMENT, TRIAL BY FIRE, VOODOO, and WINGMEN.

Leading the Attackers are BLUE'S CREW and FERRYMEN and are joined by Teams BRIMSTONE, BURLY BASTARDS, DIVINE WRATH, EXILED SOULS, EZCREATION FACTORY, GLOWING GOBLINS, JERSEY TITANS, MALTESE MILITIA, PSYCH WARD, TARGETS OF UNUSUAL SIZE, TEXAS REGULATORS, WILDCARDS, and ZOMBIE DEFENSE FORCE. They will also be joined by a Wild Contingent of Southern Boys from LOW COUNTRY PAINTBALL led by Billy Smith."

While the Defender team is fully staffed, there is always room among the Attackers for anyone who doesn't want to miss one of the biggest events in te East. And doesn't mind losing. ;)

For folks who keep playing all winter, we have a thread about Winter Woodsball tips and tricks going in the public area of the forum. Take a look, (especially if you are playing Sat 1/22 at XTreme Paintball), and feel free to chime in. (Unless you're an opponent from the P&L teams. In which case- there is nothing to see here. Move along...  )

Closing of the 2010 Season and the Beginning of 2011

Posted by Ian Lilly on January 2, 2011 at 5:35 PM Comments comments (1)

I hope everyone had wonderful holiday and an excellent New Year to Come!!! This season was a blast and we have accomplished many goals in a short amount of time. I would like to personally thank everyone on the team for allowing me to be your captain and letting the officers make decisions for you in the best interest of the team. It has been an honor a pleasure, and one hell of a good time.
We as the officer corps will do everything in our power to make this season 2011 to come, better than the last. Thank you, everyone for your unit integrity and loyalty to your fellow team mates. These core values are what make a team, and not a bunch of players running around the field as individuals. Mimes Lead The Way!!!

Merry Christmas!

Veterans Day: Don't forget to remember.

Among the 44 Mouthy Mimes and Team Friends registered here, about 25% are Veterans or Active Duty military, including most of our current command staff. The rest of us are honored to know them and to play with them. Today we say thanks to all of you, from all of us, and to all the others who have served and still serve. Most of all, we send our eternal gratitude to all those who never got the chance to come home and play pretend.

Nobody really dies until they are forgotten. We haven't. We won't.
